Scotland’s First Minister, Jack McConnell, has a plan that aims to have at least 40% of Scots buying fair trade goods and produce on a regular basis. His aim is to have the country focus on the need to buy fair trade and help disadvantaged producers in developing countries – not with handouts, but with trade.
